Our Little Big Girl!!

Kaylie is growing up so fast!! In April, she turned 2 years old! We had both Grandmas and Grandpas and Aunt Mary came to help us celebrate. (And for some reason I can't find where those pictures got downloaded to...) It is so nice to have family close by! Then, yesterday we moved Kaylie from her crib to a toddler bed!!

I was amazed at how well she did! She wasn't real keen about taking a nap on it during the day, but when I laid her down for bed, she didn't get up once and slept through the whole night!

I was so excited and proud of her!! We can't believe how big our tiny princess is getting! We sure love her and can't imagine life without her!

I hate to be the one to inform you, but you seem to have a dandruff problem. It is rather grossing me out. May I recommend that you switch shampoos, and soon. You are still dead to me by the way.

Dear Mother Nature-

Thank you for the past few days of sunshine and warm(ish) weather! I even got a sunburn (which admittedly doesn't take much for me!) My spring fever is finally starting to fade. You may no longer be dead to me...if the weather continues like this...anymore snow though and the deal is off. Thank you very much.

Really? Snow...repeatedly...in APRIL?!?! You are truly a cruel, cruel woman. Even the kids are done with snow and ready for WARM and SUNSHINE...can you please cut us a little break? No? Well, it was worth asking, right? Right. You are dead to me.

Laundry...

(Teaching little sister about the awesomeness that is the laundry)

For those of you that don't know, my three year old is obsessed (and sometimes not in a good way) with all things laundry. For a couple of years now, he has loved to sit and watch the washing machine. It doesn't matter if it is a top loader or a front loader. Wherever we go, his first priority is to see if it is at all a possibility that he might be able to do some laundry whilst we are there!

Well, as of late, he has taken this obsession one step further. He will now sort the clothes into colors and whites. He loads them into the machine...by himself, puts the soap in...by himself, starts the washer, on the correct setting for whatever load he is doing...by himself, then proceeds to watch the entire cycle while sitting on a step stool. When the load is done, he will take the clothes out...by himself, put them in the dryer...by himself, then place a dryer sheet in the machine and start it...by himself. He even takes out my shirts to line dry them and remembers to clean the lint trap before starting the load.

(Laundry can be an exhausting chore!)

Ben asked me this morning if I knew which baskets of clothes in the laundry room were clean and which were dirty. I said, "I don't know, didn't you wash them?" to which he replied, "No, I thought you did!" As it turns out, both baskets were full of clean clothes! Apparently we have a laundry fairy at our house...he is about three feet tall with blond hair, blue eyes and eyelashes to die for. Not like I didn't know it already, but I'm pretty sure I love this kid to pieces!

California!

Way back in August...Yeah, yeah, I know I am great at updating the blog...Ben and I drove down to San Diego to attend our friend Erin's wedding. She is the only member in her family so she invited us to go to her sealing at the San Diego Temple and we were so honored to attend! Her sweet mom was so nice and let us stay for free with her at her time share so it was a relatively cheap vacation!

We did splurge and go to Knott's Berry Farm while we were there. (We found some really cheap tickets on line! Score!) It was a blast!

They had Dippin' Dots there...those are Ben's favorite treat and they are hard to find here! This was at the end of the day...and it was hot! We were both a little tired!


There was a ride there called Xcelerator...like Lagoon's Wicked on major steroids!! 0-80 mph in 2 seconds! The track goes up vertically at almost a 90 degree angle! That was by far our favorite ride there!

We were able to go to the beach after the wedding and reception.

We got to watch the sun set over the water and play (very briefly) in the ocean...which is not warm in case you weren't aware!

It was really good to get away for a while, just the two of us. Thank you SOOOOO much to both sets of Grandparents for sharing baby sitting responsibilities!!
