Today we went to the Dr. for our first official appointment. We heard the heartbeat of the baby...strong and healthy! Dr. Parker asked me a few questions about dates, etc, did a pelvic exam and determined that I am a week and a few days further along than we originally thought and moved my due date up to April 13, 2009!! Excellent! One less week left until we meet our surprise! Evan is certain that it is a girl. When we told him we were expecting he said, "It's a sister!" Our conversation went as follows:
Me: We don't know if it will be a baby brother or a baby sister.
Evan: It's a sister, mommy. What's her name going to be?
Me: Well, we haven't really thought about a name. What do you think her name should be?
Evan: (Very thoughtfully) Her name should be. . . Kaylie.
Me: What should her middle name be?
Evan: (Again, very thoughtfully) Kaylie. . .Faye.
Me: That's a lovely name. How do you know that we are having a sister?
Evan: I just know.
Me: Did Heavenly Father tell you we were having a sister?
Evan: Yeah Mom, 'cuz when you hear that voice in your head, you just know!
I love the innocence of little children! They have such complete and honest faith! I hope, for Evan's sake, that it is a girl...I would hate to have to explain to him that Heavenly Father told him wrong!! I was quite impressed with his name choice though. Lately the names he makes up for things are very unique...like Otch, or Jujua. So we are pretty lucky that he chose Kaylie!! And just a side note, "Faye" was my grandmother's middle name...I think it was not coincidence that Evan pulled that name out of the air! So anyway, all looks healthy and good on the baby front and it's official! Baby #3 is for sure coming to join our family and we couldn't be more excited!!
*The belly picture is not me...but I thought it was a beautiful picture!

We also got to pet the sting rays, just like at Sea World!

Evan and Ben had fun building their own dinosaur habitat (the girl behind Evan was quite the little dinosaur hog...that's why Ben was playing too, he had to fight the little girl for some dinosaurs to play with!!)
